年末の片付けをしていて懐かしいものを発見しました。
2002年から約3年間使用した携帯電話(Sony Ericsson A3014S)です。
当時、私はお気に入りの曲を"着信音作成機能"によって制作していました。
今振り返ると、これが私にとって最初の"打ち込み音楽"であったと思います。
大沢伸一氏作曲による"Chara / Junior　Sweet"、そしてその曲の後半に現れる美しいトランペットパートに始まり、同じく大沢氏の作品"リズム"、テイトウワ氏アレンジによる"Chara / しましまのバンビ"、当時本当によく聴いていたFPM作品から"Never Ever ""Why Not""September FPM remix"、ジョンコルトレーンの"Giant Steps" ファーストアドリブパート等々、現在も私の大好きな曲上位を占め続ける色褪せない素晴らしい作品を打ち込んで楽しんでいました。

The other day when I was sweeping the room, I discovered a nostalgic stuff.
It is a cellular phone (Sony Ericsson A3014S) used for about three years from 2002.
At that time, I was making my favorite tune ring tone by "Ring tone creating function". Thinking back now, this is the first "computer music" for me.
It starts from "Chara / Junior Sweet" and the trumpet section part that appears in the latter half of the tune (Im still mad about this beautiful trumpet phrase) , which is a composition of Shinichi Osawa. Similarly, "Rhythm" is also Osawa's work. And this includes "Chara / Shima Shima no Bambi" arranged by Towa Tei, and "September FPM remix" and "Why Not?""Never Ever", these are the quotations from the FPM work.
and "John Coltrane / Giant Steps" first ad-lib pert etc.
these songs still keep occupying my favorite song high-ranking rank now. I often still listen to these as a masterpiece that doesn't fade away through all eternity.

And the 1st　Single "MELOR" was adopted as the ending theme of "J-WAVE Radio Spider" of December.
J-WAVE enabled my contact to various music in the age when the Internet was not widespread now. it is not exaggeration that This radio station is an important benefactor for me which exerted a large influence on my musical receptivity. So this adoption is indescribable pleasure for me.

I think the pleasure that "the person who wants you to understand" recognizes you, is a top of all honors for the person who expresses something, and moreover it brings objectivity as the indicator in a direction that I should advance in. So I am full of the satisfaction.

音楽制作にまつわる技術の進歩により、曲作り全ての行程を個人で行うことが容易になった今、個人の中にさらに個人を複数仮想し、俳優が演技をする如く多種多様な音楽の個性を作品ごとに演じ分けるロールプレイングスタイルソロユニットを提案。
現在1stシングル『MELOR』を軸にセルフミックスという形で同じ素材を様々な角度から再構築中。

aslAn+ is 『ROLE PLAYING STYLE SOLO UNIT』
Nowadays, The advancement of the music production technology facilitated all process accomplishment of the music production by the individual.
So I propose the "role playing style solo unit" that performs various music taste whithin each work　by generating the pseudo-another person in the individual, that might be able to say it corresponds to actor's performing in various positions.
Im searching for the possibility of the diversification of the same tune as a self mix by using single tune 'MELOR' now.

今月FPMのアルバムがリリースされますが、そのリードトラック"Without You"があまりに自分好みだったので早速カバー(MELOR - Da Chip House mixのMIDIノートを移動させただけのものですが)しました。

The new album of FPM will be released this month, and the lead track "Without You" is too wonderful, so I covered it. (I made it by only moving the MIDI note of my "MELOR - Da Chip House mix". )

この曲は大きく分けて二つのパートから成り立っていると思います。

I think this tune roughly consists of two parts.

1'25"-2'02" - (B) E G6 Aadd9 F#7(13) Fmaj7(13)

(A):Eメジャーキーのサブドミナントとトニックが何度も交互に現れるコードの上にEイオニアンのメロディーが乗る"Eメジャーの秩序から一歩もはみ出すことのない"堅実なAパートはとても素直な構造ですが、音価の高いヴォーカルメロディがテンションノートで配置されている(例えば曲冒頭、SD,T各和音に対する9th→3rdテンションリゾルブが連続する部分)ので退屈になりません。
(B):それに対して、調性という観点において各和音の脈絡が断絶され、1小節ごとに転調している様なBパートは5小節1ユニットという変則性も相まって絶妙な緊張感を醸し出していると思います。
そしてヴォーカルメロディという観点で注目したいのは"全ての和音に対する3rdの音が一度も鳴っていない"ことです。これは単にベーシックな3和音、4和音以外のテンション音などを積極的にメロディに採用することで芳醇な響きをもたらそうとした結果3rd音をとらなかっただけなのか、意図的に仕組まれたちょっとした遊び心なのかわかりませんが、いずれにしろ西洋(調性)音楽の肝ともいえる3度をすり抜け続けるような音の動きはちょっと他に類を見ない面白さに溢れています。
(B)の冒頭E-G6=I-♭III進行は(偶然ですが少し前にも書いたように)私の最も好きなコード進行のひとつです。この"メジャー→短三度上メジャー進行"はFPM作品では私の知る限り、Tell Me、Fanfareで使用されており、いずれも熊原正幸氏の作曲のようなので、このwithout youも氏のペンによるものかもしれない等と推測しながら原曲のBパートを繰り返し聴いています。(あまりに素敵な進行なので私は自分のエディットで、メロディを抜いたトラックパートだけの部分も10小節加えて締めくくっています。)

(A):Sub-Dominant and Tonic of E major appear alternately and the melody of E Ionian is on there, that doesn't disarrange the order of E major at all. Such an orthodox structure tends sometimes to be accompanied by tedium, but impressive arrangement as tension note of the vocal melody prevent it from being tedium.
(B):On the other hand, In the viewpoint of tonality,The rupture of the connection of each harmony seems to be causing a bewildering modulation. and whats more, it has irregularity of forming one unit with five bars. I think such irregularities produced a good tense atmosphere.
And to attract my interest most is "the vocal melody does not adopt the 3rd note at all harmonies. "
Is this a result by an only basic technique that the intention of generating mellow sound by positively adopting the tension sound etc. for the melody caused no adoption of 3rd note? or Is this a result by the little playful mind intentionally planned? I can't know, but anyway, the movement of the sound that keeps avoiding 3rd degrees that can be said the most important part of Western music, overflows with unparalleled interest.
And at the beginning of (B),The E -G6=I-♭III progression (as I wrote  before a little though a coincidence) is one of the most favorite chord progressions of me. This progression is used with Tell Me and Fanfare in FPM works. Because as long as I know, MASAYUKI　KUMAHARA seems to have composed these works, he might have composed this "Without you"　too. Im listening to this part many times while guessing like this.
(Here is too wonderful, so Im adding the part only of the back track that erases the melody to my Edit ten bars in the ending part).

It overflowed with interest that did not bore me even for a moment.
My impressions of this book is emptiness of discussion about a question of right or wrong of one's act that doesn't take "why did he or she do so?" into consideration.
I thought that the emptiness that one felt it when one touched Internet discussion board and the variety show etc. might be this emptiness.
Recently I tends to do selfish decision based on only the surface information to a large amount of information generated by emergence of the Net etc.This was a good medicine for such me.

素晴らしいチップチューングループ、YMCKの除村さんが作った無料VSTプラグイン"Magical 8bit Plug"を使用して私の曲MELORのチップチューンリミックスを作りました。(myspaceで試聴いただけます。また他の曲についても時々修正アップロードしているのでぜひともチェックしてください。)

I made the remix of my tune MELOR by using VST free plug-in "Magical 8bit Plug" that Mr. Yokemura (who belongs to YMCK, which is wonderful chiptune group) had made. (MELOR Samples on myspace)

YMCKの音楽を聴くとジャズに対する敬意を深く感じます。(wikipediaには"スウィングジャズの要素を持つ"という内容がありますがコード進行を単音の連続で表現する手法はどちらかといえばビバップの手法に近いと思います。)

I feel their respects to jazz when Im listening to the music of YMCK.(Such a description is on wikipedia. ”YMCK has the element of swingjazz."However,If anything, I think the technique of the continuously single note expresses the chord progression is the technique of bebop.)

そのことがはっきり現れているのは"ジョン・コルトレーンは回転木馬の夢を見るか"だと思います

That clearly appears to "Does John Coltrane Dream of a Merry-go-round?".




この曲はジョンコルトレーンの代表曲Giant Stepsにインスパイアされて作ったと思われます。

I guess "Giant Steps" should have inspired in their production




この曲に特徴的な
メジャーコード → 短3度上のメジャー7th　→　ドミナントモーションによりメジャーコードに解決　→　短3度上のメジャー7th…の連続
というコルトレーンチェンジと呼ばれる、美しいけれど、眩暈がするようなコード進行で歌曲をつくってしまう実験心には脱帽です。

The feature of this tune is　Consecutive　I - bIII7 - bIV chord progression.
I think the experiment minds of them who make the song by using such beautiful chord progression (so called Coltrane change) that might cause vertigo are amazing

In the point of "the continuously single note  expresses the chord progression", High-speed arpeggio　(for instance 2'52''-3'01')' always leads me to the highest impression.

I bought SYMPHONIC ENSEMBLE STRINGS. Though it is the same company's sound source included in ableton live as the attachment,
as for SYMPHONIC ENSEMBLE STRINGS, a detailed setting of the sound character is flexiblle.I am using it for "Melor elevation ordinary house deliverly mix".

先日EdBanger record所属のフランス人アーティスト、Breakbot氏本人から直接myspaceのフレンドリクエストをいただきました。訊いてみたところ、Van She - Kelly Breakbot remix (aslAn+ re-edit)をyoutubeで発見したことがきっかけになったとのことでした。
うれしいことに、彼は"it was pretty much awesome"という言葉まで下さいました。制作へのこの上ない励みになります。

The other day. There was personally a friend request on myspace from Mr. Breakbot himself. Apparently, having discovered Van She - Kelly Breakbot remix (aslAn+ re-edit)on youtube seems to have become a chance that he had given me the request.
To my joy, he gave me word "it was pretty much awesome."It encourages my motivation of production very much.
